History[]
On November 28, 2023, Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. posted a thread on Twitter announcing two new Japanese voice databases that were to be "available for purchase soon", providing no information apart from teasers.[1] Aya, as she was originally named, was the first vocal to be teased within the thread, described as a "mild, lustrous voice with a pleasant midrange & whispering lows". It was also noted that her "transition from chest to falsetto is clear & distinct" and indicated that she would be "good at melodies fluctuating between both registers."
On December 5, Dreamtonics revealed that they were changing her name to Ayame due to another company developing a product under the same name.[2] She released two days later on December 7.
Updates[]
Retirement[]
Ayame was discontinued by Dreamtonics on March 21, 2025 with the release of Synthesizer V Studio 2 and Ayame 2. As of March 23, several Japanese online stores like the AHS Store, DLsite, and SONICWIRE still sell the original Ayame voice database, but stock may be limited.
Usage on Synthesizer V Studio 2[]
Ayame can be imported into (and used on) Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro by simply registering her SVS1 activation code into the My Dreamtonics website.

- Ayame's voice was described as having a mild, lustrous voice with a pleasant midrange & whispering lows. The transition from chest to falsetto is clear & distinct, meaning Ayame is good at melodies fluctuating between both registers.[7]
- With Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DPM), Ayame can sing more realistically through changes in volume and breath, further enriching singing details, making each singing unique, and providing creators with more options. Through this mode, She can use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning". This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro and Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro editors.
- Phoneme format: Romaji
- Through Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis, Ayame can sing in not only Japanese but also in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese Chinese. Since the release of her v101b1 update on December 18, 2023, she can also sing in Spanish with this feature. Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro and Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro editors.

- "Soft"
- "Mellow"
- "Sweet"
