History[]
2020[]
On June 26, 2020, an update to Synthesizer V Studio for Eleanor Forte was announced on a Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. Livestream, however, there was no release date announced at the time.[3] On July 15, Eleanor Forte Lite was announced on Animen's ANiCUTE store. On July 30, the Lite voice database was released as a free download for Synthesizer V Studio. This Lite database may use the same source materials as the older Synthesizer V version.
On October 30, in response to a fan's tweet regarding Eleanor's update, VOLOR stated there would be a compromise of the schedule due to attempting to fully utilize the cutting edge technology for Synthesizer V.[4] VOLOR announced that Eleanor would be "coming out when she is ready" and that more information would be available by Dreamtonics in the October 30 broadcast.[5]
During production, xuu assisted in the development process, mainly with assisting and advising VOLOR in many different areas.[6]
2021[]
On May 11, 2021, VOLOR made a thread regarding Eleanor's update. They explained that her production for a Standard voice database could not progress as steadily due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] Her voice provider would need to travel to Tokyo to proceed with recordings at Kanru Hua's studio which was stopped in September 2020.[8] During this period, things changed after the debut of Synthesizer V AI, which is a song-based recording and would give a chance to be done remotely, with the machine learning done alone by Dreamtonics.[9] However, the AI edition would make Eleanor's voice very different from her original tone of voice and sound that was based on Synthesizer V Standard. This concerned the company as they worried that users may not desire this change of voice, but still considered it as a step forward.[10] They confirmed that they would try to pursue the AI recording method and release Eleanor as soon as possible, but emphasized that it would make her voice change dramatically and asked users to express their thoughts if they were interested in this update.[11]
On June 12, information about Eleanor's production was further confirmed. Synthesizer V was revealed as a technical preview on August 19, 2018, and Eleanor became the software's face at the time, but after unfortunate circumstances, she was nearly stuck at the starting point despite receiving much support from fans and users.[12] VOLOR always hoped that Eleanor would receive a proper evolution as a supporter of Synthesizer V since its beginning and as such, announced that she would be receiving a Synthesizer V AI library developed by Dreamtonics to be released in later 2021.[13] This library would help bring more expression alongside her long-existing and beloved Synthesizer V Standard Lite library[14], which VOLOR confirmed they still hoped to fulfill the goal of creating a full Standard voice database, but it may take some time, even years.[15] It was noted that Eleanor's AI voice database needed much focus for her to be the best that she could be.[16]
On June 26, it was announced that pre-orders for Eleanor Forte AI would be open from July 3 to July 31.[17] She was also planned to have a bundle package, allowing users to purchase her with the Synthesizer V Studio editor.[18] This was confirmed to be released around Q4 of 2021.[19] Information about discounts for ANiCUTE members was also distributed to their emails, which detailed that users who previously purchased a Synthesizer V product from ANiCUTE could use their activation codes as their coupon.[20] When asked about a Lite version, it was confirmed that Eleanor AI would be receiving one, though the release date for it was not decided.[21] Around the closing of the pre-order period, VOLOR clarified that it would officially end on August 1 at 16:00 JST (July 31 at 00:00 PT).[22]
On August 19, VOLOR confirmed that Eleanor's AI voice database production was going very smoothly. They expected a demo to release within the next two months.[23] An announcement for early-bird pre-order members to be able to access the voice database exclusively would also be made at some point.[24] A survey regarding a physical copy for Eleanor Forte AI was also released.[25] After gathering responses from the survey, VOLOR planned to launch a smaller pre-order period which would allow existing buyers to add in a physical option, as well as allow new buyers of Eleanor Forte AI to purchase her if they hadn't already.[26]
On October 7, VOLOR revealed the design for Eleanor's AI physical box. The box would be limited to the pre-order campaign which would begin on October 9.[27] VOLOR noted that the physical package worked as an add-on to an existing digital order.[28] Emails from VOLOR were sent out announcing the pre-order period as well as confirmation that Eleanor's AI database was expecting completion by the end of October. VOLOR expected to distribute the database to first-round customers in November.[29]
On October 16, VOLOR announced that they were collaborating with AUDIOLOGIE Co., Ltd. in distributing Eleanor AI and ANRI as bundle packs. The options included: Eleanor + ANRI, Synthesizer V Studio Pro editor + Eleanor + ANRI, and ANRI's physical add-on to existing Eleanor orders.[30] Sometime in Autumn, Eleanor's physical box was updated.[31] Early bird pre-orders were expected to deliver on November 22.[32] The final release date for all customers would be announced later.[33]
On November 28, Eleanor's AI Lite voice database was released.[34] It was also announced that the full version would be released to all users on December 6.[35] On December 6, VOLOR announced that the last of the pre-order batch of Eleanor Forte AI had been sent out and the voice database was officially released.[36]
2022[]
On February 22, 2022, VOLOR sent out a newsletter regarding Eleanor Forte AI's physical package. They confirmed that they were unable to ship them within the December 2021 schedule and were still unable to do so due to further outbreaks of the COVID-19 pandemic, causing a requirement for additional applications to be submitted for cross-country packages and the average shipping price increasing about five times (or more in some areas). After ANRI's physicals were shipped in December last year, VOLOR was forced to suspend Eleanor's shipment and try to find a solution. Since the Chinese New Year holiday finished and the courier industry resumed work, VOLOR announced that they would provide an update of their resumed shipment plans around March or April 2022. VOLOR confirmed that they prepared an additional budget to cover any overruns.[37]
On July 21, Eleanor Forte was one of the AI voice databases to receive an update for HDVM compatibility (a feature introduced in Synthesizer V Studio Pro 1.7.0, also released the same day).[38] However, some users complained about unstable voice-quality results when re-rendering in 1.7.0 projects saved under earlier versions of the editor that made use of her voice database (after updating it to v105). On July 22, Dreamtonics explained that by default, the AI Retakes feature favors "rich timbre and expressions over smooth and stable vocalization", resulting in inconsistent behavior relative to previous versions;[39] as a workaround to stabilize the voice output, they offered these steps below:[40]
- Empty the selection.
- Open AI Retakes panel, go to Timbre tab.
- Under Takes -> Global Settings, reduce Expressiveness.
Responding to requests from users, Dreamtonics made available for download that same day rolled-back versions of Eleanor Forte AI (as well as other affected AI voice databases) by logging in to their store download website.[41]
On August 17, a user showed a private message between them and VOLOR regarding Vocal Modes for Eleanor's AI voice database. VOLOR said that they completed their work around the end of July and sent the data to Dreamtonics, confirming that Eleanor would be receiving a Vocal Mode update in the future.[42] On November 12, through four new demo videos, Eleanor was confirmed to have eight vocal modes: "Solid", "Tender", "Bold", "Melancholic", "Powerful", "Dark", "Warm", and "Clear". Her v108b1 installer for Synthesizer V Studio version 1.8.0b1 was expected to release the following week.[43]
On November 14, VOLOR announced that the production of the physical boxes for Eleanor Forte AI was cancelled and were in the process of refunding purchase orders.[44]
2025[]
On or around June 5, 2025, ANiCUTE's website, the only online shop where Eleanor Forte AI was being sold, was closed and taken offline, leaving users with the inability to purchase her.[45] No official statement by VOLOR (whose last official Twitter activity, a retweet of Eleanor congratulating fellow Animen vocal AiKO's eleventh anniversary,[46] was logged back on November 19, 2023) or Animen was made to explain whether this was a temporary or permanent discontinuation of sales of Eleanor AI (as well as of fellow ANiCUTE exclusive AiKO Standard, who was marked as sold out there since a month earlier),[47] in light of Synthesizer V Studio version 1 being retired by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. in favor of Synthesizer V Studio 2 back on March 21. This led Dreamtonics to remove the "Start Trial" and "Buy Now" buttons from Eleanor Forte AI and AiKO's listings (as well as those for the other fellow Animen vocal GENBU, even though he could still be bought from Japanese stores like DLsite and AH-Software Co. Ltd.'s AHS Store) on My Dreamtonics (the website set up by Dreamtonics for users to register the activation codes for their purchased SVS1 and SVS2 voice databases before using them on the new engine) near the end of June, citing that such "action has been taken following confirmation that our partner has discontinued sales", and leading users to speculate whether Eleanor AI and AiKO were indeed discontinued.[48][49]
On July 1, ANiCUTE responded to a Chinese user's email inquiry that the online store was temporarily closed to allow them to make planned major adjustments to its business, and that new information would be posted later that month. The email also offered to provide pricing and payment codes for WeChat and Alipay for any near-future plans to purchase Eleanor Forte AI.[50] At least two non-Chinese users also reported receiving email responses from ANiCUTE offering to provide a direct purchase link for Eleanor AI while the storefront underwent maintenance,[51] and that international payment methods (not just WeChat and Alipay) were also being accepted.[52][53]

Usage on Synthesizer V Studio 2[]
The paid version of Eleanor Forte AI can be imported into (and used on) the new Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro editor by simply registering her SVS1 activation code into the My Dreamtonics website.
On May 9, 2025, it was noted that users who had registered their activation codes for Eleanor Forte AI on My Dreamtonics now had free access to a "non-AI" version of Eleanor Forte, using the old in-editor icon previously used by Eleanor Forte Standard Lite (as well as the original SVR1 Eleanor Forte voice database).[1] It turned out to be technically an AI voice database trained from songs performed by Eleanor's SVS1-only Standard Lite (similar in concept to a Synthesizer V Plus database), effectively an SVS2-compatible version of her Standard Lite made for its continued usage on the new editor.[2] This allows Eleanor Forte Standard Lite to remain compatible with the new engine; however, she does not have access to the Vocal Mode function and does not support Korean Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis or any other Synthesizer V Studio 2-exclusive features, rendering the database similar to that of a first-generation Synthesizer V Studio vocal imported into the new engine.
The Lite version of Eleanor Forte AI cannot be imported into (nor used on) Synthesizer V Studio 2, not even in its feature-limited trial mode.

Voice Databases[]
- Prior to confirming the production of Eleanor's AI voice database, VOLOR acknowledged that it could sound different in tone to her Standard voice.[10]
- As Eleanor's final Synthesizer V voice database was edited to sound higher and cuter,[75] her AI voice database sounds closer to how she sounded when she debuted as ENG-F1 in 2017. She sounds more natural and more faithful to her voice provider.
- Her AI voice database could be tuned to sound closer to her Standard version, but her overall default parameters are different.[76]
- Dreamtonics noted the recording quality was excellent.[29]
- Crusher, one of the demo producers for Eleanor AI, regarded the voice database to be of high quality.[77]
- NEUTROGIC, another demo producer, noted Eleanor AI to be easy to use.[78]
- As per the Synthesizer V Studio 1.7.0 update launched on July 21, 2022, through High Dynamics Voice Models (HDVM), which later migrated to Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DPM) per the 1.8.0b1 update on November 10,[63] AI voice databases may use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section with variations in pitch, dynamics, and timbre. This replicates the randomness of human vocalists, adds a more realistic feel, and allows users to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning." This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro editor,[79] as well as in the succeeding Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro editor.
- This does not apply to the Lite version.
- To have Eleanor Forte AI sound similar to Standard, VOLOR suggested adjusting the following parameters:
- Tension: -0.175
- Gender: -0.250 (Studio Basic) OR -0.150 (Studio Pro)
- Breathiness: +0.200
- Tone Shift: +200 cents (Studio Pro only)
- It was noted that while it might not be an exact match, VOLOR encourages users to experiment and find out what they like.
- Phoneme format: ARPABET
- On December 23, 2021, with the announcement of Synthesizer V Studio 1.5.0, all AI voice databases would be able to use cross-lingual singing synthesis. This allows Eleanor Forte AI to be able to sing in not only English but also in Japanese and Mandarin Chinese using this new feature.[80] Since the release of her v109b1 update on June 10, 2023, she can also sing in Cantonese Chinese; since her v111b1 update on December 18, she can also sing in Spanish with this feature. Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro and Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro editors.
- Improvements to her cross-lingual capabilities were improved upon since her v109b1 update, including cleaner Japanese pronunciation.
- This does not apply to the Lite version, thus restricting the voice database to English only.
- As of November 14, 2022, the paid version of Eleanor Forte became compatible with the Vocal Mode function. Her v108 update includes eight variations:

- The Lite version of the voice database, which was released in July 2020, was not based on new recordings and may use the same source material as Eleanor's original Synthesizer V voice. There may be some differences between the full and lite voice databases in this regard, aside from simply having fewer pitches and adjusted quality.
- At the same time, however, there are differences between Lite and her original voice database. The Lite voice database is slightly lower in tone, and with the usage of the gender parameter set at -0.09, one could potentially replicate her original voice more faithfully. Despite this, however, it may still sound different when compared to Eleanor Forte's original voice database. The new voice database also gains access to the "Alt Phonemes" feature despite the lack of recording data for it in her original voice database as this feature was unavailable at the time. The new voice database also carries a slightly different pronunciation when provided the same phonemes, implying that it could be re-recorded. The specifics are unknown.

- Compared to her Standard Lite version, Eleanor Forte has a noticeably smoother sound due to the AI training. The nasal tone which is notably present in her Lite version is completely missing from this voice database, too.
- Eleanor Forte is able to sing more realistically through changes in volume and breath, further enriching singing details, making each singing unique, and providing creators with more options. Through this mode, she can use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning". This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.
- Phonetic format: ARPABET
- Through Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis, Eleanor Forte can sing in not only English but also in Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, and Spanish; however, as an AI-trained Standard voice database, Eleanor Forte does not have access to the newly-added Korean. This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.
- Because it was trained from a Lite voice database rather than from a full voice database, Eleanor Forte has buggy behavior on Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro, especially in the higher pitches beyond A#4.[81]
- Usually but not always, notes above A#4 render instead as A#4;[82] because the Pitch Control Points Mode is only available to Synthesizer V 2 AI voice databases, fixing such flattened notes requires manual editing of the Pitch Deviation as if the original notes were A#4.[83]
- On the opposite end, notes below F3 tend to render instead as F3, again requiring manual Pitch Deviation edits to make her sing lower.
