History[]

On October 18, 2024, Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. posted a thread on Twitter announcing two new voice databases in development for Synthesizer V Studio under the names Felicia and Riku.[1] The first of the pair of voice databases to be teased with a demo song within the thread was Felicia, a native English vocal described as exhibiting a "powerful, classic, operatic yet modern, versatile female voice, injecting a ray of sunshine into your productions with a wide selection of timbres. The names of her five vocal mode variations Airy, Bright, Musical, Operatic, and Powerful were also revealed. She was announced to be released on October 24.

Felicia was released on October 24 as expected.[2] On November 29, Felicia's voice provider was confirmed to be an American based in Japan.[3]

Package details as noted:
Felicia is a feminine American English voice database. As expected of an AI voice database, this enables her to sing with a more human-like, natural, and realistic voice.

Vocal traits as noted:
  • Felicia's voice was described as having a powerful, classic, operatic yet modern, versatile female voice, injecting a ray of sunshine into "your" productions with a wide selection of timbres.
  • She was noted to be suitable for pop, soul, electronic, opera, classical music, alternative rock, and metal genres.
  • With Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DPM), Felicia can sing more realistically through changes in volume and breath, further enriching singing details, making each singing unique, and providing creators with more options. Through this mode, she can use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning". This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro Editor.

Phonetic notes as noted:
  • Phoneme format: ARPABET
  • Through Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis, Felicia can sing in not only English but also in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish with this feature. Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro Editor.

Vocal Modes as noted (Synthesizer V Studio Pro Editor only):
  • Felicia comes with five variations:
    • "Airy"
    • "Bright"
    • "Musical"
    • "Operatic"
    • "Powerful"
