History[]

On October 22, 2025, an announcement was posted to the official Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. Weibo account regarding the development of two new Mandarin Chinese voice databases for Synthesizer V Studio 2, based primarily on bel canto singing styles with the goal to further enrich Dreamtonics' vocal database portfolio. The names of the voice databases, Lang Chuan (a masculine baritone vocal) and Yun Hua (a feminine mezzo-soprano vocal), were shown alongside their respective icons. They were announced to be demonstrated at the 2025 "Music China" International Music Instruments Exposition (2025 中国（上海）国际乐器展览会) in Shanghai, China.[1] Further details would be announced following the event.

Lang Chuan was released alongside Yun Hua unexpectedly to Mainland China consumers on October 29 on the official Dreamtonics Taobao online store immediately following their debut at the 2025 "Music China" International Music Instruments Exposition. The pair released as standalone voice databases[2] and bundles with the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro editor,[3] as well as a Dual Pack containing both vocals.[citation needed]

On November 21, Lang Chuan and Yun Hua's shared demo song video, which before then was only available on bilibili, was published on the official Dreamtonics YouTube channel.[4] The two voice databases were then made available to international customers on the Dreamtonics Store that same day.

Lang Chuan is a masculine Mandarin Chinese voice database. As expected of an AI voice database, this enables him to sound realistic and human-like.

Vocal traits as noted:

Lang Chuan is able to sing more realistically through changes in volume and breath, further enriching singing details, making each singing unique, and providing creators with more options. Through this mode, he can use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning". This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.

It is to note that this voice database has no retrocompatibility with the Synthesizer V Studio editor.

  • Through Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis, Lang Chuan can sing in not only Mandarin Chinese but also in Japanese, English, Cantonese Chinese, Spanish, and Korean. This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.

  • OS: Windows 11/10 (64-bit) / Mac OS X 10.13 or newer.[5]
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 or newer / equivalent AMD Ryzen CPUs / Apple Silicon M1 or newer.[5]
    • AHS Store recommends at least 4th generation for Intel Core i5 CPUs.[6]
  • Memory: 4GB or more.[5][6]
  • HDD: 1GB or more.[5][6]
    • This is the space required when one voice database is installed.
    • Space is required according to the number of voice databases to be installed.
  • Others: audio device, internet connection required, email address able to send and receive messages required. (You need to create an account at Dreamtonics to use the product.)[6]
    • Please check the product page for the latest operating environment. Even if you do not have a DVD-ROM drive, you can install the software via the Internet. Even if the software meets the requirements for operation, we do not guarantee that it will work on all computers.
