Liam is an English vocal developed and distributed by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd., and was released as one of three complementary AI voice databases (the other two being Mai 2 and Mo Xu) for the Synthesizer V Studio 2 in March 2025. A paid edition was also released for those who choose not to select Liam as the free starter voice database.[1][2]
His voice provider has not been revealed.
Concept[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals before him, Liam was intended to be treated as an official voice database or an indispensable "reference-level" type of singing voice, representing Dreamtonics's brand quality.
Liam was designed to be "a classic Western male voice typical of 70s/80s pop, rock & even country singers."[3]
Etymology[]
No official information was released regarding why the name "Liam" was chosen or what the name may mean.
The name "Liam" is of Irish descent and is the short form of the name "William". It became popular in the United Kingdom in the 1980s, and elsewhere in Europe and the Americas after that. It was the top ranked name for boys in the United States beginning in 2017. Famous bearers include British actor Liam Neeson (1952-), British musician Liam Gallagher (1972-), and Australian actor Liam Hemsworth (1990-).[4]
Appearance[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, rather than having an official human-like avatar, Liam is represented by an abstract symbol, the letters L and M, which are drawn from the first and last letters (respectively) of his name. The letters are blue in color with hints of a yellowish lime green. The top of the M's arches are flat rather than pointed. Unlike other voice databases that are also represented by abstract two-letter icons, the "L" and "M" are of equal height, rather than having the second letter be shorter than the first letter. Characterization is left to the song producers themselves rather than the product, so Liam is open to any form of visual interpretation, allowing the producer to decide what they would like him to look like.

Marketing[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, Liam was treated as an official or standard vocal for the engine, where he could potentially be found in demonstrations of Synthesizer V Studio 2 and its AI capabilities. This also meant that he would be among the first vocals to be equipped with the latest engine updates. Liam was one of the focal voices of marketing Synthesizer V Studio 2.
