History[]

2023[]

On May 11, 2023, AUDIOLOGIE Co., Ltd. announced "AOFEST2023", an original song-writing contest for ANRI and JUN.[1] It was announced that one of the four winning prize packs included exclusive early access to the company's two upcoming Synthesizer V projects, which were slated for a 2023 and 2024 release, respectively.[2] Following the 2023 Anime Expo, the 2023 project was announced to be a data update for ANRI, later announced to be ANRI Arcane;[3][4] the 2024 project would be implied to be a brand-new, yet-unknown vocalist.

2024[]

On February 29, 2024, AUDIOLOGIE launched a webpage themed around White Day, featuring JUN, ANDI, and an unknown character referred to as "???? ?????", alongside supplemental character information.[5] On March 14, an additional image for the promotion was released with a statement written in-character, stating that his "face reveal" had to "be pushed back a bit".[6]

On June 28, AUDIOLOGIE launched a webpage titled "HEX", featuring a 3D render of pewter jewelry covered in chains in front of a black background, with a countdown timer above it set to expire at 10AM PST on July 4.[7] Alongside this, a post was made on the official X account linking the page, stating, "Welcome to the #hex era".[8] When the timer ran out, the image was replaced with a YouTube Shorts teaser video of a new song performed by a new Synthesizer V AI vocal, whose name was revealed to be NOA Hex.[9] NOA was also announced to be shown off during Anime Expo 2024 on July 5.[10]

On July 20, the full version of the song was published. Also, his boxart and download icon were revealed, and pre-orders were opened for both the download version and the limited-edition physical version, which was to be bundled with an acrylic stand and a tin badge.[11] The voice database was announced to have ten vocal modes, but their names were not revealed.[12] The release date for the voice database was set for the month of September, with no exact day given then, while the physical box and merchandise were stated to be released and shipped in late October.

On July 24, the release date was narrowed down to September 7. Also, the number of vocal modes was bumped from ten to thirteen,[13] with the names of four of those modes being revealed in a second demo song[14] to be "Attack", "Power", "Whisper", and "Nasal".[15]

Package details as noted:
NOA is a masculine English voice database. As expected of an AI voice database, NOA is capable of singing with a more human-like and realistic voice.

Vocal traits as noted:
With Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DPM), NOA can sing more realistically through changes in volume and breath, further enriching singing details, making each singing unique, and providing creators with more options. Through this mode, he can use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning". This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro Editor.

  • Phoneme format: ARPABET
  • Through Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis, NOA can sing in not only English but also in Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, and Spanish. This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio Pro Editor.
