History[]
On March 1, 2025, two characters were introduced under the names Nakuru and Natsume Itsuki by the Japanese content production company Hifumi, inc. based on the voices of the Japanese virtual singers Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume respectively, and were announced to be in development for the then-upcoming Synthesizer V Studio 2. Nakuru was announced to be illustrated by Japanese illustrator Nekoyama Iori. An official website was opened for the pair and more Information was announced to be released in the future. The release date at the time was undecided.[1] On March 3, a press release with PR TIMES released additional information including concept artwork, the full illustrations for both characters and a brief description for each vocalist. Nakuru was described as a singing voice database that allows for a crystal clear singing voice and a wide range of expression, including whisper and mellow to pop, with a variety of vocal tones suitable for all genres.[2][3][4] A short sample demonstration showcasing Nakuru's vocals was uploaded by producer America Minyo Kenkyukai (アメリカ民謡研究会) on their official YouTube channel.[5]
On March 20, the day before Synthesizer V Studio 2 was released, the boxart package illustrations for Nakuru and Itsuki were revealed; it was also announced that both physical and digital editions (including both standalone and Starter Pack options) would be released on April 27.[6] Pre-orders were opened the same day and would be available until April 7. Users who opt for the physical packaged edition, have the option of purchasing a version including an additional bonus CD containing original songs by Yoshida Yasei and necchi.[7] That same day, Nakuru's first demo song was uploaded, a cover of Evil Bubble originally sung by her Voice Provider.
