Riku (リク) is a Japanese vocal developed and distributed by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd., and released as an AI voice database for Synthesizer V Studio in October 2024.
His voice provider has not been revealed.
Concept[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals before him, Riku was intended to be treated as an official voice database or an indispensable "reference-level" type of singing voice, representing Dreamtonics's brand quality. Riku was noted to vocalize a "sensitive, crisp yet brittle-sounding male tenor voice", and was described as a soft, soporific impression on the listener, with a whispery, feather-like tone suitable for low-mid tempo, gentle, warm emotional and romantic J-pop, K-pop,[1] soul, electronic music and more. Riku’s pronunciation was noted to produce a slightly exotic accent, not atypically Japanese-sounding.[2]
Etymology[]
"Riku" is a boy’s name of Japanese origin meaning "land" or "continent".
Riku's name in kana was rendered as "リク".
Appearance[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, rather than having an official human-like avatar, Riku is represented by an abstract symbol, the letters R and K, which are drawn from the first and third letters of his name. The letters are a gradient blend of green and white. The letter R is only slightly taller than the letter K, which is rendered in lower-case. Characterization is left to the song producers themselves rather than the product, so Riku is open to any form of visual interpretation, allowing the producer to decide what they would like him to look like.

Additional Information[]
Marketing[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, Riku was treated as an official or standard vocal for the engine, where he could potentially be found in demonstrations of Synthesizer V Studio and its AI capabilities. This also meant that he would be among the first vocals to be equipped with the latest engine updates.
