History

On December 24, 2024, Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. announced via Twitter that an update for Synthesizer V Studio, known as Synthesizer V Studio 2, was in production and was simultaneously announced to be unveiled during the upcoming 2025 NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center, to be held on January 23 - 25. Updates for previous Dreamtonics voice databases were simultaneously announced, including Sheena 2 who, in spite of being previously announced, was not shown as installed on Kanru Hua's copy of SVS2 during an exclusive preview video published just before NAMM 2025 kicked off.

On February 13, 2025, Dreamtonics opened pre-orders for Synthesizer V Studio 2 on its international store, as well as pre-orders for Synthesizer V 2 AI versions of all of its signature voice databases, including Sheena 2. Also, a limited-period campaign was launched that would allow current owners of Dreamtonics' Synthesizer V AI voice databases (like Sheena) to upgrade them to their Synthesizer V 2 AI versions at deep discounts.

Sheena 2 was released on March 21 as expected.

This is the Synthesizer V Studio 2 version of Sheena, a feminine Japanese voice database that is described to be mild and lustrous. As an AI vocal, this enables her to sound realistic and human-like.

Vocal traits as noted:

• Sheena 2 was described as a female voice that embodies a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western musical aesthetics, being recorded in Japanese and in English.
• Sheena 2 was described as having a mature and powerful tone, intertwined with a melancholic, distinct timbre that resonates deeply, making her an excellent choice for compositions that dwell in emotional depths.
• She was noted to be suitable for R&B, soul, blues, and emotive pop.
• Sheena 2 is able to sing more realistically through changes in volume and breath, further enriching singing details, making each singing unique, and providing creators with more options. Through this mode, she can use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning". This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.

• Through Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis, Sheena 2 can sing in not only Japanese and English but also in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Spanish, and Korean. This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.
  • It should be noted that while Dreamtonics officially recognizes Sheena as a bilingual voice database, her default language is set to Japanese. She was confirmed to be recorded and trained in Japanese and English which helped her pronunciations in both languages.

System requirements as noted:

• OS: Windows 11/10 (64-bit) / Mac OS X 10.13 or newer.
  • AH-Software Co. Ltd.'s AHS Store recommends instead macOS 11 or later for the latter.
• CPU: Intel Core i5 or newer / equivalent AMD Ryzen CPUs / Apple Silicon M1 or newer.
  • AHS Store recommends at least 4th generation for Intel Core i5 CPUs.
• Memory: 4GB or more.
• HDD: 1GB or more.
  • This is the space required when one voice database is installed.
  • Space is required according to the number of voice databases to be installed.
• Others: audio device, internet connection required, email address able to send and receive messages required. (You need to create an account at Dreamtonics to use the product.)
