THINKR INC. (株式会社THINKR or 株式会社シンカー) is a design firm, or a creative production company. It is the parent company of KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO.
In May 2018, THINKR became a subsidiary of ixtl Inc.[1][2] (renamed to aNCHOR Inc.), which itself is a subsidiary of Avex Pictures Inc. (part of the Avex Inc. umbrella).[3] Avex held 70.1% stake in THINKR,[4] which was later increased to 79.0% in 2023.[5] On June 21, 2024, THINKR bought back shares from Avex with third-party funding and became independent.[6]
History[]
THINKR INC. emerged on April 1, 2016 from a merger of two firms:[7][8] ANSWR, a creative studio that was founded in 2007,[9] and 2.5D inc., a group company based in Shibuya, Tokyo that was founded on March 31, 2011.[10] In July, a creative team, .MP, was spun off from THINKR, establishing itself as an independent group company.[11]
In 2018, THINKR relocated its headquarters to its current location at Unicorn Studio in Aobadai, Tokyo. In 2019, KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO and Flat Studio were established. In 2020, QA Studio was established. In 2021, Sinsekai Studio was established.[9]
In 2023, Sinsekai Studio was integrated into KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO as a subsidiary.[9]
Structure[]
THINKR consists of the following five studios:[12]
- KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, a "YouTube-first" creative label and artist management company;
- Sinsekai Studio, a project derived from KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO;
- Flat Studio, a 2D animation studio;
- QA Studio, a design firm;more info needed and
- Imaginary Studio, a production company specialized in management of photo-realistic artists (like te'resa), in cooperation with overseas partners like Chinese firm Aha Entertainment.[13]
KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO[]
KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO (神椿スタジオ), a subsidiary of THINKR INC., is a Japanese creative label that is mainly focused on YouTube-based content and is responsible for the creation of the Musical Isotope Project line. It is dedicated to bring about a new and different "V-world" (virtual world) through music creation and story writing that can change the world little by little. Their motto is "Everything starts from here".
They began releasing voice synthesizers through CeVIO AI, starting with their first Song Voice library, KAFU, in July 2021. KAFU was later followed by four more vocals: SEKAI, RIME, COKO, and HARU. KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO then began to produce libraries for Synthesizer V AI[14] and VOICEPEAK in collaboration with AH-Software Co. Ltd., who was in charge of development.[15][16]
