“ Or snapping fingers' gentle touch,
Or clapping hands' bold participation
One sound and one break, calling the toes kicking along.
Or drum beats with staggering beats,
Or Melody with clever changes,
One beat heavy, and one beat light, calling the body swaying.
The beat is etched into the soul, the rhythmic ebb and flow is like a marching pace;
The lyrics are freely written, and the sparks of dreams are sparked by the collision of lips and teeth.” —Introduction prior to debut[1]
Yi Xi (奕夕) is a Mandarin Chinese vocal developed and distributed by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd., and released as an AI voice database for Synthesizer V Studio in March 2024 to mainland Chinese customers. In February 2025, Yi Xi was announced to be receiving an update for the new Synthesizer V Studio 2 engine, introduced as Yi Xi 2, and was released simultaneously alongside the new editor in March 2025.[2][3]
Her voice provider has not been revealed.
Concept[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals before her, Yi Xi was intended to be treated as an official voice database or an indispensable "reference-level" type of singing voice, representing Dreamtonics's brand quality.
Yi Xi is intended to be a feminine counterpart to D-Lin, a masculine Mandarin vocal designed for rap. She can also be regarded as a Mandarin counterpart to the feminine Japanese rap vocal Eri.
Etymology[]
"Yi" (奕; Yì) means "graceful" or "abundant" while "Xi" (夕; Xī) means "evening", "dusk", or "night". Combined together, Yi Xi can mean "graceful evening". It could also illustrate a beautiful sunset or night, or an evening glow of a setting sun.
Yi Xi's name is rendered in kana as "イー・シー".
Appearance[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, rather than having an official human-like avatar, Yi Xi is represented by an abstract symbol, the letters "Y" and "I", drawn from the first two letters of her name in romanization. The letters are burgundy red in color with hints of pale blue. Characterization is left to the song producers themselves rather than the product, so Yi Xi is open to any form of visual interpretation, allowing the producer to decide what they would like her to look like.

Additional Information[]
Marketing[]
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, Yi Xi was treated as an official or standard vocal for the engine, where she could potentially be found in demonstrations of Synthesizer V Studio and its AI capabilities. This also meant that she would be among the first vocals to be equipped with the latest engine updates. She was Dreamtonics's first feminine synthetic voice to natively rap in Mandarin Chinese.
Reputation[]
